TIDE Early Alert Program
PURPOSE: The purpose of the Tide Early Alert program is to ensure students success. The Tide Early Alert Program will identify first-year students within the first three to six weeks of the semester who have:
- Received a D or F on an assignment, test, or paper
- Excessive absences
- Exhibiting behavior inconsistent with a productive and successful student
PHILOSPHY: Intervention with students during the first six weeks of the academic year has a long term positive impact on academic success and retention. Most habits are formed within the first three weeks of class. The approach of the intervention will be caring and supportive, versus disciplinary in nature.
PROCESS:

- Student CWID & Name
- Presenting Issue (drop down menu)
- Additional Comments if Necessary
- Alerts are processed daily the Office of Academic Retention and routed to Housing & Residential Communities and the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs. Students are contacted within 48 hours and provided the appropriate support
- A follow up email is sent to the faculty/staff who submitted the alert as a follow-up.
